Are Embroidered Designer Kurtas Very Costly?

Kurtas are one of the most popular items for men to wear on formal occasions such as weddings. They look best suited with pyjamas or churidaar bottoms although some boys prefer to wear it over jeans. Most boys prefer wearing kurtas which are monochromatic or have simple designs on them. However, that is not the only way to wear a kurta. Embroidery work on kurtas is very common and a lot of boys prefer wearing these kurtas for pujas, festivals, engagements and other formal occasions. Designer kurtas are those that belong to a particular line and sports designs which are indigenous to the line.

The common embroidery forms used on kurtas include Lucknowchikan, Kantha stitch, zari work, patchwork, chain stitches and dull stitches and much more. Most designers use a mix of these stitches to make the designer kurtas look exclusive. Some designers also include beads and crystals in order to make the kurtas shimmery.

There are several factors which determine the price of designer kurtas and tops for girls. Prior to buying these kinds of kurtas, you need to factor in these causes and decide whether the price is right for such kurtas.

Embroidery done on the Kurta

The cost of kurtas depends on the amount of embroidery done on them. If you buy a kurta which has embroidery only along the front, by the line of buttons, then the cost of the kurta would not be much. However, if you choose to buy a kurta which has a lot of work done on it, then its price would increase. Use of beads and sequins on the kurta may also increase its price.

Embroidery too can be done in two ways- hand embroidery and machine embroidery. Machine embroidery usually takes lesser time to be completed, is finished better and costs less. Hand embroidery takes longer to be completed and hence the price of such good is much more than machine made ones.

Type of Material Used for the base

Sometimes, the cost of a kurta is decided from the type of material used for the base. For example, if it is made on cotton, then the cost of such kurtas would not be much. However, if the base material is an expensive one such as tussar silk, then the price of the kurta would be more.

The cost of a designer kurta begins usually from Rs 500 and it can go up to Rs 50,000 even depending on the designer label, the handiwork involved, the style of the kurta etc. Therefore, you need not spend a bomb to get designer kurtas for your friends or near ones. Moreover, if you look up the online shopping websites, you can come by better options at even lower prices. However, before placing your order, you should read through the descriptions of the kurtas such as material used to make the kurta, size, embroidery done on it, and much more, just like you do while doing online shopping for women clothes.

There are many websites that are dedicated exclusively to menswear and you can find good styles of designer kurtas on these websites which are inexpensive.
