Latest Lehenga Designs for Wedding

Lehengas have become a rage nowadays among Indian wedding dresses because of their elegance and exquisite handiwork. They look exquisite and come in myriad colours, materials, designs and lengths which would suit women of different body types. Designers love creating lehenga choli ensembles as it offers them a lot of creative freedom of expression.

As most fashion trends in India are inspired by Bollywood movies and what actresses are wearing, here are a couple of the latest lehenga designs for wedding for young brides. They are visually stunning and attract a lot of compliments your way.

Fish Tail lehengas
The fishtail lehengas have longer skirts than normal lehengas. The ends of the lehenga are wider than the top, giving the impression of a fish tail. The choli is on the shorter side and is perfect for those with a flat midriff. They have a lot of embellishments on them, crafted using stone work and patchwork. To make the ends look flowing, chiffon and other light materials have been used, which are layered later on. A heavier petticoat is attached on the insides to give the outfit some definition. The dupatta is a mesmerizing creation and is usually draped across the neck, with two ends hanging down each shoulder.

Elongated Choli Lehenga
The elongated cholis in lehengas usually reach down to your waist line rather than ending above the navel. If you do not want your midriff exposed then this is the ideal design you should go for. Latest lehenga designs for weddings offer an alternative to the elongated choli- a jacket or shrug which is goes down to your waist line. The skirt has a regular design with pleats covering all around and having a lot of width. These lehengas have a zari work on them in silver and golden colour. The wedding lehengas available in the market are mostly in pink and red.

A-Line Lehenga Choli
If you are one who trips a lot on sarees and other drapery, then the A-line lehenga choli is one of the best alternatives for you. The skirt falls down strength and does not have much width. The cloth is layered less in this kind of lehenga choli and the petticoat is not too thick either. The choli is a standard one and it is made of cloths such as brocade, cotton and polycotton. The lehengas and dupattas of these lehenga cholis are made of chiffon, net, organdie or georgette and they have a lot of patchwork, buta and reflection work done on them. They look mesmerizing and can suit all body types.

Latest lehenga designs for weddings and even many Indian wedding dresses today make extensive use of contrasting colours such as pink and blue and red and green. The contrasts look stunning especially with the embellishments and ornamental designs done on them. Depending on the handiwork done on the lehenga, its price is determined. Most of the lehengas are sold as semi-stitched ensembles, where lehenga and dupatta are ready to be used and the choli needs to be stitched separately.
